Staff
The staff at Green Lake Preschool and Child Care Center are dedicated to creating a safe, caring and stimulating environment. Staff members are chosen for their ability to provide skilled care that recognizes every child's individuality and unique needs.
Staff are trained experienced professionals who have received certificates and/or degrees from an accredited community college or university child development program, or have significant experience in the child care field. All staff members have first aid, cpr, valid references, t.b. testing and background checks from the Department of Early Learning within thirty days of hire.
The Center values continued professional development of all staff and recognizes that quality childcare depends largely upon maintaining high levels of skill among the employees. As part of employee benefits we provide training opportunities in and out of the Center. The Executive Director supports and facilitates staff continuing education. Several of the staff have degrees in Early Childhood Education, Child Development Associate Certificates (C.D.A.'s) and all employees meet the Washington state mandated continuing education requirements. One staff member has been with the program since it opened in 1988. Some of the staff have been with the program for ten years or more. Approximately one third of staff is male.
The Executive Director has more than twenty five years of experience in early learning, she has been a classroom teacher, a program supervisor and has been the Executive Director of Green Lake Preschool since 1996. She has an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education from North Seattle Community College, holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Mount Saint Clare College in Clinton Iowa (also known as Ashford University) and has a certificate in Leadership in Early Childhood Education from the University of Washington.
